Donald Glover and Maya Erskine pose as Mr. & Mrs. Smith in trailer for new Prime Video series

January 12, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

With just three weeks to go until Mr. & Mrs. Smith premieres on Prime Video, a new trailer and poster have arrived online for the small screen reimagining of the 2005 action comedy.

Donald Glover and Maya Erskine star as strangers who land jobs at a mysterious espionage company, where they are placed together in an arranged marriage to complete a high-risk mission, but soon find that their complex job becomes more complicated when they begin to develop feelings for each other.

In this version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, two lonely strangers land jobs working for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, world travels, and a dream brownstone in Manhattan. The catch? New identities in an arranged marriage as Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith. Now hitched, John and Jane navigate a high-risk mission every week while also facing a new relationship milestone. Their complex cover story becomes even more complicated when they catch real feelings for each other. What’s riskier: espionage or marriage?

Joining Glover and Erskine in the cast are Paul Dano (The Batman), Michaela Coel (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), John Turturro (The Batman), Parker Posey (Beau is Afraid), Wagner Moura (The Gray Man), Alexander Skarsgård (The Northman), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), Sharon Horgan (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), Ursula Corbero (Money Heist) and Billy Campbell (Cardinal).

Mr. & Mrs. Smith premieres on Prime Video on February 2nd.
