Drew Barrymore confirms Adam Sandler is working on Happy Gilmore 2

April 7, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Happy Gilmore 2 is coming; at least, that’s according to two people who have seen the script.

This all started when Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin, teased that Adam Sandler showed him a first draft of the sequel. Now, another person has seemingly brought confirmation with Drew Barrymore saying Sandler told her about the sequel.

In a preview from the latest episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the news broke with the host confirming she went straight to the source for a Happy Gilmore sequel update.

“I want it. I need it. I stayed up last night with my daughter watching Billy Madison,” said Barrymore. “I sent Sandler a video [of it]. He sent me another video back, and I’m waiting to see if he’s confirming about the Happy Gilmore 2 script.”

After a commercial, the actress & host adds, “This just in, I have breaking news — I’ll just say this from my source, that it is ‘in process.'” Check out the clip below…

Neither McDonald nor Barrymore shared further details, and Sandler is very secretive about Happy Gilmore 2. However, with news seemingly out, perhaps we’ll get some official news soon.
