DuckTales getting the reboot treatment for 2017 – Woo Hoo!

February 25, 2015 by admin

Da-da-da-danger, watch behind you, there’s a reboot out to find you…

It was announced today that classic Disney cartoon DuckTales is getting the reboot treatment over at Disney XD, set to debut in 2017. The original series ran from 1987 to 1990 and culminated in the big screen adventure DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp. Perhaps they are best known today for the catchy theme song or the infamous NES game made by Capcom which was remade for XBox Live a couple of years ago.

“DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history,” Marc Buhaj Disney XD’s senior vice president, programming and general manager said in a statement. “It drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”

In addition to Scrooge, Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald, the new “DuckTales” will also feature such familiar characters as Launchpad McQuack, Gyro Gearloose, Duckworth, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley and Webbigail “Webby” Vanderquack.

Are you excited to return to Duckburg? To celebrate, let’s relive that awesome theme song…
