Much to the delight of console gamers, Funcom’s Dune: Awakening is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox. This open-world survival game inspired by the blockbuster film franchise takes players to Arrakis where they’ll be able to learn the ways of the Fremen before the 18th December premiere date of Dune: Part Three. The console release brings plenty of new features, which have been added to the PC version in a brand-new update. These features include a full single-player mode that allows players to enjoy the entire game with all its content completely solo. There’s been the addition of hours more story content that concludes Book One of the game’s immersive story, and there have been changes to gameplay customisation, allowing players to adjust everything from harvesting rates to death penalties to experience gain. Cross-play between platforms has also been confirmed and will arrive at a later date.
All additions and enhancements made to the game on PC over the past 15 months are also available for the console version, including the option to either play PvP or PvE, new maps and dungeons, refined action gameplay, and the ability to save your base, recover your vehicles etc.
The brand-new Filmic Archive DLC features a wealth of new content that allows players to become more immersed in the world of Dune. Players will be able to equip armour and stillsuits such as the Harkonnen Cataphract Armor, Atreides Hoplite Armor, the Longhaul Stillsuit, the Caladan Stormcoat, and more, or build a fortress using 73 Sardaukar construction pieces, new decorative pieces, weapons, and emotes.
Dune: Awakening is now available on PlayStation 5 digitally and as a physical copy, and on the Xbox via the Xbox Store. Xbox gamers can play through Game Pass, or purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition at 20% off.
