Dwayne Johnson confirms work is underway on Jumanji 3

June 18, 2018 by Gary Collinson

With Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle racking up over $960 million at the global box office following its December release, becoming Sony’s second biggest ever hit after Skyfall, it comes as no surprise that the studio is looking to fast track a sequel into theaters.

The follow up was announced in January, with Sony targeting a December 2019 release date, and now Dwayne Johnson has taken to Instagram to announce that work is underway on the sequel, with The Rock also confirming the return of director Jake Kasdan.

Although there’s been no official word on the cast for the as-yet-untitled Jumanji 3, an early teaser poster did feature silhouettes of Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan, so presumably all four are on board to reprise their roles.
