Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho delayed by a week

July 2, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Director Edgar Wright’s (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver) new psychological horror movie, Last Night in Soho, has once again been delayed.

As reported by Bloody Disgusting, Last Night in Soho has had its theatrical release date delayed by one week from October 22nd to October 29th. Although no official reason was given for the delay, it is safe to assume that this is the result of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune being recently pushed back three weeks from October 1st to October 22nd – which would have put it head-to-head with Wright’s next feature film.

Last Night in Soho has received numerous delays over the past year as the film was originally scheduled to debut in September 2020 before being pushed back to April 2021 and later the aforementioned October 22nd as a result of the pandemic.

SEE ALSO: Could Last Night in Soho be Edgar Wright’s leap to greatness?

A young girl, passionate about fashion design, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it seems, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences.

Edgar Wright has co-written the script for the film with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful). The cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass), Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (Leave NoTrace), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Michael Ajao (Attack the Block), Synnøve Karlsen, Diana Rigg (Game of Thrones), Terence Stamp (The Adventures of Priscila, Queen of the Desert), and Rita Tushingham (My Name is Lenny).
