Elle Fanning is The Girl from Plainville in trailer for Hulu’s true crime drama

March 3, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

Hulu has released a poster and trailer for The Girl from Plainville, the upcoming crime drama based on the true story of Michelle Carter (Elle Fanning), a young woman convicted of involuntary manslaughter after she allegedly encouraged her boyfriend Conrad Roy III (Colton Ryan) to kill himself via text messages; take a look here…

“The Girl from Plainville” is inspired by the true story of Michelle Carter’s unprecedented “texting-suicide” case. Based on the Esquire article of the same name by Jesse Barron, the limited series explores Carter’s relationship with Conrad Roy III and the events that led to his death and, later, her conviction of involuntary manslaughter.

Joining Elle Fanning and Colton Ryan in the cast of The Girl From Plainville are Chloe Sevigny, Cara Buono, Kai Lennox, and Norbert Leo Butz.

The Girl From Plainville premieres on Hulu on March 29th.
