Emily Bett Rickards returning as Felicity Smoak for Arrow series finale

November 1, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Having left the show at the end of season seven, Emily Bett Rickards is set to make her return as Felicity Smoak for a guest appearance in the series finale of the DC superhero series Arrow.

The news was announced by Oliver Queen himself Stephen Amell, with executive producer Marc Guggenheim teasing that we’ll see the return of “more old friends” as The CW brings the curtain down on the series after eight seasons.

There’ll be a lot of news coming out about our final episode over the next few months. I prefer when you hear it from us. Welcome back Emily. pic.twitter.com/YlVpgoPWLi

I prefer it, too. 😜 We couldn't be happier or more thrilled. No other way to do our finale. You'll find our about more old friends returning in the coming weeks… https://t.co/19sdtY6TrH

Rickards made her debut as Felicity Smoak in the third episode of Arrow back in season one in 2012; originally planned as a one-off character, Felicity quickly became a fan favourite character and key figure in the show, as well as making the transition to the DC comic book universe.

Arrow airs on The CW on Tuesday nights.
