Falcon and Winter Soldier teaming up for Marvel TV series

October 31, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was announced that Disney and Marvel Studios will be launching a number of limited series featuring characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including shows based around Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.

Well, we can now add a third potential project to that list, as Variety is reporting that Malcolm Spellman (Empire) has been hired to develop a team-up between Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson / Falcon and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier.

Falcon and The Winter Soldier has some memorable interactions in Captain America: Civil War, and so a buddy series featuring the two characters (battling over Cap’s shield, perhaps) should certainly prove appealing to fans.

The various Marvel limited series are being overseen by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige as opposed to Jeph Loeb and Marvel Television (who have handled all previous MCU-related series) and are expected to focus on characters who are unlikely to receive their own solo films at this point in time.

Are you excited about the prospect of a Falcon and Winter Soldier team-up? What other series would you like to see explored? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
