Fantastic Four’s Ioan Gruffudd would “love” to join Chris Evans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

July 18, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After suiting up as Mister Fantastic in 2005’s Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, actor Ioan Gruffudd has revealed to Digital Spy that he’d love to follow his co-star Chris Evans into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I would love that,” said Gruffudd. “I just don’t know, in that universe, the Marvel world, would they let me play something else? I’m sure for Marvel it was a tough decision to pick Chris to play [Captain America] because he’d already played one superhero, but what a brilliant decision it was, because he’s wonderful. And Michael B. Jordan has played Johnny Storm and he’s amazing in Black Panther as well, so there are precedents set. So we’ll see. Maybe [I could play] a baddie, this time? Now that I’ve established myself as somebody who can do that, that would be great.”

Would you like to see Ioan Gruffudd taking on a villainous role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Are there any characters that stand out to you as a possibility? Let us know your thoughts in the comments…
