Felicity Jones comments on the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story reshoots

October 12, 2016 by admin

Earlier in the year, it was reported that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would be getting huge reshoots that pushed back its post-production (so much the film lost its composer). Director Gareth Edwards said there was nothing to worry about (though Tony Gilroy now has a screenwriter credit), as did producer Kathleen Kennedy, and now its star Felicity Jones has also commented on them.

“Obviously when you come to the edit, you see the film come together and you think, ‘actually, we could do this better, and this would make more sense if we did this,’” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve done it so many times. I mean, you wouldn’t just give your first draft on this story, would you?”

So, does that put the ‘troubled production’ rumours to rest?

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release on December 16th 2016, with a cast that includes Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Diego Luna (Milk), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), Donnie Yen (Ip Man), Jiang Wen (Let the Bullets Fly), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Alan Tudyk (Con Man), Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler), Genevieve O’Reilly (Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith), Jimmy Smits (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones), Valene Kane (The Fall) and Jonathan Aris (Sherlock).
