Filming begins on Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds, Taika Waititi, Jodie Comer and Joe Keery

Disney has announced that filming is now underway on Free Guy, director Shaun Levy’s (Night at the Museum) adventure comedy starring Ryan Reynolds (Pokemon: Detective Pikachu).

The film will see Reynolds playing a a lonely bank teller who discovers he is actually an NPC, a background character, in the open-world videogame Free City.

Production on Free Guy is taking place in Boston, with Reynolds starring alongside Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Taika Waititi (Avengers: Endgame), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Mulan).

Reynolds can currently be seen in theaters voicing the title character in Pokemon: Detective Pikachu and has the Michael Bay action thriller 6 Underground arriving on Netflix later this year.
