First details and new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 released at E3

June 13, 2018 by Andrew Newton

CD Projekt Red, creators of the award winning The Witcher series, have shared the first official details for their latest title Cyberpunk 2077.  This latest title is as far away from the setting of their beloved Witcher series but from watching the new trailer it looks every bit as beautiful and captivating.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world, narrative driven RPG set in the same universe as the old pen and paper RPG of Cyberpunk 2020 developed by Mike Pondsmith and follows the journey of hired gun, V.  Taking the role of V players will travel around Night City, the most violent and dangerous metropolis in a world ruled by corporations.  V’s gender, visual appearance, character class and background can all be customised and there will be a possibility that any of these factors can influence the game.

As with The Witcher there will be literally hours upon hours of play in the game’s main story and side quests plus an interactive dialogue system will enable players to communicate with others in this living, breathing world.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith’s classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming to Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
