First look at Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger in Star Wars: Ahsoka season 2

With the second season of Star Wars: Ahsoka currently in production, we’ve been given our first look at Eman Esfandi’s Ezra Bridger at the San Diego Comic-Con.

When we last saw Ezra in Ahsoka, he had been marooned on a mysterious planet across the galaxy with Grand Admiral Thrawn’s forces for several years. The finale saw him finally return to galaxy we know and love, reuniting with Hera and Chopper while Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren were trapped on the same planet after Thrawn’s return.

In the first released image from season two, Ezra has cleaned up his appearance by shaving off his shaggy beard and trading his tattered clothes and stolen Stormtrooper armour for a New Republic outfit. It is safe to assume he will resume his rank as Commander under Hera’s role as a New Republic general.

Not much is known about the upcoming season, but it will see Thrawn preparing for a “head-to-head battle” against the fan-favourite Star Wars character Admiral Ackbar as he sets out to unite the fractured Imperial remnants, taking inspiration from Timothy Zahn’s iconic Star Wars Legends novel Heir to the Empire.

Star Wars: Ahsoka season two will feature Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera Syndulla), Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger), Ivanna Sakhno (Shin Hati), David Tennant (Huyang) and Lars Mikkelsen (Grand Admiral Thrawn) with Game of Thrones‘ Rory McCann taking over the role of Baylan Skoll after Ray Stevenson’s passing and Hayden Christensen reprising his Prequel role as Anakin Skywalker.
