First-person puzzle adventure Fractured Minds helps raise awareness of mental health issues

November 14, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Fractured Minds, a BAFTA Young Game Designer award winning puzzle adventure game from Wired Productions and up and coming developer Emily Mitchell, is now available to buy on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC to help raise awareness of mental health issues. This new first person puzzle adventure explores anxiety and mental illness and the impact they have on the individual.  See more of this game in the new trailer below….

Fractured Minds is inspired by Emily’s very own journey through severe anxiety and will take players through a series of atmospheric and thought-provoking chapters.  Each chapter represents a different aspect or challenge associated with various mental health issues ranging from the feeling of isolation to the often overwhelming feeling of anxiety.

“I created Fractured Minds to help those who suffer from anxiety and other mental health issues feel they’re not alone,” said Emily Mitchell. “The effects of illness can be invisible from the outside, yet debilitating to those affected, so it’s important to continue raising awareness and offering support. I am grateful for the support I’ve received and want to help others however I can.”

This journey will feature:

  • A thought-provoking experience about what it means to live with a mental health issue.
  • Interactive environments to overcome though challenges and puzzles across 6 levels, each inspired by real-life obstacles.
  • Explore the emotions surrounding emptiness, anxiety, depression and paranoia with hope.
  • Enjoy a rich and immersive soundtrack including “Silence” provided kindly by Kai Engel.

“Fractured Minds represents the best of what inspired talent can aspire to offer to the world, and Safe In Our World is honoured to be a beneficiary as we support Emily and her poignant project,” said Gina Jackson, Trustee for Safe In Our World. “We are passionate about shedding light and destigmatizing mental health conditions while helping the gaming community to come together in support of one another.”

Fractured Minds is available now for PC and consoles.
