Fox “would love to do more” episodes of The X-Files

February 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Chris Carter has already expressed his interest in extending The X-Files beyond its current limited series, and with the season finale set to air this coming Monday [watch a promo here], Fox entertainment president David Madden has told Variety that the network “would love to do more” episodes of the ratings hit.

“We said before it aired that we would love to do more, and we are over the moon with the performance,” states Madden. “So far, the response has been really encouraging. We haven’t talked to the talent yet about Season 2 in any more definitive way than we had prior to airing the show, but certainly, it seems like there’s an audience responding to the show that would love to see more episodes.”

Given the ratings that The X-Files has been pulling in, you can bet Fox would LOVE to give the go ahead to an eleventh season, assuming they can get the schedules of stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to align.
