FX gives a brief update on Y: The Last Man TV series

January 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in October, it was announced that FX Networks and Brian K. Vaughn are working on a TV adaptation of Vaughn and Pia Guerra’s acclaimed comic book series Y: The Last Man.

Speaking to IGN at the Television Critics Association press tour, FX CEO John Landgraf has revealed that he expects Vaughn to choose a co-writer for the project soon.

“There’s a kind of a scrum of interest in that,” states Landgraf. “We’ve had a number of producers and writers who really want to participate in that. Ultimately, it’s Brian’s call who he wants to work with and I think that’ll come out soon.”

Y: The Last Man ran for 60 issues between 2002 and 2008 and revolves around “Yorick Brown — the last surviving human with a Y chromosome — and his Capuchin monkey, Ampersand. The series follows escape artist Yorick after the mysterious plague as he sets out to find what might have wiped out the world’s male chromosomes.”
