July 1, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that its latest Overwatch 2 collaboration is set to launch this Tuesday, July 1st as the heroes of G.I. Joe and the villains of Cobra enter the battle for the Overwatch 2 x G.I. Joe event.

Running between July 1st and July 14th, the event features various challenges and reward, along with skins for Genji as Snake Eyes, Freja as Scarlett, Reaper as Cobra Commander, Widowmaker as Baroness, and Doomfist as Destro, each of which are available as individual Hero Bundles or as a G.I. Joe Mega Bundle. Check out the screenshots and trailer below for more info…

Complete in-game special ops challenges to unlock exclusive rewards before they’re decommissioned. With signature voice lines, sprays, and a weapon charm all inspired by the classic arsenal, every reward is a salute to the iconic G.I. Joe legacy. Claim the G.I. Joe player title, rack up 25,000 Battle Pass XP to fuel your seasonal grind, and show the world you’re mission ready. Challenges are live across Quick Play, Competitive, and Stadium, and wins score you double progress. You’ve got your orders—lock in and get to work.

Overwatch 2 is available to play on consoles and PC, with the G.I. Joe collaboration launching July 1st.
