Game of Thrones is the most pirated TV show of 2015

With 2015 drawing to a close, the tracking site TorrentFreak has been analysing the most pirated TV shows of the past twelve months, with HBO’s epic fantasy series Game of Thrones claiming the dubious honour for the fourth consecutive year. The season 5 finale of Game of Thrones was illegally downloaded 14.4 million times – more than twice that of the runner up, The Walking Dead. Here’s the full top ten, with the number of single episode downloads, along with their U.S. TV ratings:

1. Game of Thrones – 14,400,000 downloads; 8,110,000 US TV viewers
2. The Walking Dead – 6,900,000 downloads; 15,780,000 US TV viewers
3. The Big Bang Theory – 4,400,000 downloads; 18,300,000 US TV viewers
4. Arrow – 3,900,000 downloads; 3,920,000 US TV viewers
5. The Flash – 3,600,000 downloads; 4,010,000 US TV viewers
6. Mr. Robot – 3,500,000 downloads; 1,750,000 US TV viewers
7. Vikings – 3,300,000 downloads; 5,010,000 US TV viewers
8. Supergirl – 3,000,000 downloads; 12,960,000 US TV viewers
9. The Blacklist – 2,900,000 downloads; 10,110,000 US TV viewers
10. Suits – 2,600,000 downloads; 2,380,000 US TV viewers
