Geralt of Rivia arrives in Monster Hunter: World

February 8, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Thanks to a crossover event between CD Projekt Red and Capcom players can now access a brand new original quest line in Monster Hunter: World starring the most famous of monster hunters, Geralt of Rivia.  This collaboration update is currently available on Xbox One and PS4 and will arrive on PC at a later date.  You can see more of Geralt’s new adventure in the new trailer below….

During this crossover, all players who have reached Hunter Rank 16 or above will be able to take Geralt through the ‘Trouble in the Ancient Forest’ contract.  Once again voiced by Doug Cockle in the English version of the game, Geralt will need to track down a powerful and mysterious creature known as the Leshen.  The Witcher’s abilities and arsenal, including his silver sword and combat magic will be available during the hunt.  There’s also plenty of dialogue to engage in with other characters that will influence how the story unfolds.  Those who complete the contract will earn unique, Witcher themed special items, resources for crafting Geralt’s armor and weapons, a unique skin and weapon for the player’s Palico companion, plus new gestures, titles, pose and guild card background.

From 15th February until 1st March, hunters at rank 50 or above will be able to test their skills with a challenging multiplayer event, ‘Contract: Woodland Spirit’.  This will pit players against a much more deadlier version of the Leshen and will reward with all the resources needed to craft the armor and weapon set of Ciri, another popular character from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The Monster Hunter: World x The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt collaboration is available on Xbox One and Playstation 4 now.
