Eight years after its last episode, MTV2 is set to revive the animated comedy series Celebrity Deathmatch, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
The new season is being produced by original creator Eric Fogel, with THR reporting that “the new version will again feature animated no-holds-barred fantasy fights between infamous figures from entertainment and pop culture and will be reimagined for a social media world and hourly Twitter wars.”
Celebrity Deathmatch launched in 1998 and ran for for four seasons through to 2002, before being revived by MTV2 in 2006 for a further two seasons.
