GTA-inspired 2D top down shooter Riskers coming to Steam next week

October 12, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Are you one of the lucky gamers who can remember how much fun the original GTA was when it came out back in the days of the PS1?  If so then you will love the top down shooter Riskers which is coming to Steam on the 17th October.  Enjoy the gameplay trailer below.

Riskers is a story of revenge that sees players jump into the shoes of ex-con Rick Paradis who comes across a briefcase filled with money.  Having kept the money for himself he finds himself having to survive the pursuit of gangsters out to reclaim their loot.  Unfortunately, Rick’s brother becomes a casualty of the mob’s pursuit leaving Rick to set out and sort out these thugs once and for all.

Throughout the game’s main storyline and variety of side missions players can explore an open world filled with interesting characters to kill by any means necessary.  There’s a huge variety of weapons at Rick’s disposal including shotguns, pistols, automatic rifles and sniper rifles and if all else fails then pick up a chair.  If a bit of car theft is your thing there are also plenty of opportunities for that as well.

Riskers features:

  • Play a unique mix of game genres (top-down action, driving, and shooting).
  • Experience an interactive open world, complete with a day and night cycle.
  • Explore highly-detailed interior levels.
  • Eliminate enemies with a selection of eight different weapons, or resort to chair-throwing.
  • Take a break from the main story and complete a variety of side missions.
  • Immerse yourself in the story through comic book-style cutscenes.
  • Search for in-game collectibles.
