Fox has announced that Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) is set to guest star in an upcoming episode of The X-Files season 11, which will centre on the character of FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi).
Former child star Osment was recently seen in a guest role in HBO’s Silicon Valley, and also features in the upcoming Hulu TV series Future Man alongside Josh Hutcherson. Details on his X-Files role are being kept under wraps.

The eleventh series of The X-Files sees David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as Mulder and Scully (with Anderson stating recently that she expects it to be her final time). Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose also return, while new additions include Barbara Hershey and Brian Huskey. It is scheduled to premiere on FOX in early 2018.
