Harley Quinn animated series gets premiere date, new DC Universe content announced

October 4, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Before Harley Quinn returns to the big screen in next year’s Birds of Prey, the fan favourite villain is set to headline her very own animated series on the DC Universe subscription service, and now we know when to expect the R-rated show.

As revealed at New York Comic Con yesterday by showrunners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, the Harley Quinn series – which features The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco as the title character – is set to land on DC Universe on November 29th.

Along with the Harley Quin premiere, the panel brought word of a new mixed media anthology series from Blue Ribbon Content entitled BizarroTV, which will feature a mix of live-action and animated short form content featuring characters from the more obscure corners of the DC universe, including Space Cabbie, Ambush Bug, Slam Bradley and the Creeper.

It was also confirmed that the animated features Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, Superman: Red Son and Justice League Dark: Apocalypse will all arrive on DC Universe 90 days after their physical releases in 2020.

The adult animated comedy series, HARLEY QUINN, follows Harley’s adventures, where alongside ragtag crew of DC castoffs, she tries to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of the Doom.

Harley Quinn is slated to premiere on DC Universe in late fall 2019, and features a voice cast that includes Kaley Cuoco as Harley, Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Diedrich Bader as Batman, Jacob Tramblay as Robin, Rahul Kohli as Scarecrow, Alan Tudyk as The Joker, Jim Rash as The Riddler, Christopher Meloni as Commissioner Gordon, Sanaa Lathan as Catwoman, Tony Hale as Doctor Psycho, Ron Funches as King Shark, J.B. Smoove as Frank the Plant, Wanda Sykes as the Queen of Fables, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, and Giancarlo Esposito as Lex Luthor.
