Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren star in trailer for Yellowstone prequel 1923

November 14, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

There’s something about Harrison Ford wearing a hat while on horseback that unavoidably bumps your geese, and if you can’t wait to see if saddles up for Indiana Jones 5 then he’s heading back to the small-screen for the first time since March 1993 in Yellowstone prequel 1923, and to make it even better he has Helen Mirren in tow.

A prequel series to Taylor Sheridan’s highly successful Kevin Costner led Yellowstone series, 1923 follows Ford’s family patriarch Jacob and his gun-toting wife Cara (Mirren) as they settle at Yellowstone, only to be faced with the challenges of the era dominated by prohibition, pandemic, historic drought, and the burgeoning shadow of the Great Depression.

Also starring Sebastian Roché, Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, James Badge Dale, Michelle Randolph, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Julia Schlaepfer, Jennifer Ehle, Brandon Sklenar, and Robert Patrick, you can check out the teaser below…

1923, the next installment of the Dutton family origin story, will introduce a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob (Ford) and matriarch Cara (Mirren). The series will explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.

Yellowstone: 1923 streams on Paramount+ from December 18th.
