Hayao Miyazaki’s son Goro working on new CG anime feature at Studio Ghibli

December 3, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Studio Ghibli reopened its doors earlier this year as Hayao Miyazaki came out of retirement to work on his new film Kimitachi wa do Ikiru ka (How Do You Guys Live?), but it seems that isn’t the only project in the works at the celebrated anime studio.

According to THR, Miyazaki’s son Goro Miyazaki is working on his own feature, details of which are being kept tightly under wraps, save for the fact that it will feature CG animation.

Goro has previously directed Tales from Earthsea and From Up on a Poppy Hill, along with the anime series Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter.

Meanwhile, Ghibli co-founder Toshio Suzuki also suggested that the studio will be working on further projects in the future, stating that: “Ghibli will keep making films. That is the true path for Ghibli. Continuing on is all we can do; until the day we are unable to do so. That is what I have resolved to do.”
