Henry Cavill and The Witcher showrunner respond to the actor’s casting

September 6, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Henry Cavill has reacted to his casting in The Witcher TV series, as has the upcoming series’ showrunner.

The Witcher book saga, written by Andrzej Sapkowski, has a pretty passionate fan base as has the video game series that stemmed from it. Netflix is in the progress of making a fantasy drama series based on the story and it has now been announced that Henry Cavill will be starring as Geralt.

Showrunner of the series, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, has now publically expressed her excitement about the casting, taking to Twitter to say: “He was my first meeting. I didn’t have writers or scripts yet – just a greenlight and a lot of passion. That was four months ago, and I’ve never forgotten the passion he brought. He IS Geralt. He always has been. I’m so thrilled to welcome HENRY CAVILL to the #Witcher family.”

Henry Cavill himself has also responded to his casting in the show, and from the sounds of it, he’s pretty pumped as well. The actor posted the following tease to his Instagram:

“My new mailing address is:

Geralt
C/O Vesemir
Kaer Morhen
Kaer Morhen Valley
Hertch
Kaedwen

“Please note, I’m rarely there. Monster slaying being what it is. So, replies will be few and far between, if at all.”

So, showrunner and star are pretty happy but what do you think? Are you excited by Cavill’s involvement in The Witcher?
