Henry Cavill shares cryptic video following rumours of Superman exit

September 13, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Last night a report surfaced from reputable trade THR claiming that Henry Cavill would be exiting the DC Extended Universe having failed to reach a deal with Warner Bros. to reprise the role of Superman in next year’s Shazam!, throwing into doubt any future appearances in the DCEU for his Man of Steel.

Warner Bros. subsequently issued a statement downplaying the report, claiming that “no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films”, and now Cavill himself has taken to Instagram to share a rather cryptic video, which doesn’t seem to suggest a goodbye to the iconic character. What it does suggest however, is anyone’s guess…

So, what do you think is going on here? Could this whole thing be a negotiating plot by Cavill and his reps? An attempt by Warner Bros. to gauge interest in another Superman movie? Or do you think that Cavill’s time as the Man of Steel is really over? Let us know in the comments below…
