Insurgency: Sandstorm coming to consoles in August

February 27, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Focus home Interactive and developer New World Interactive has announced that their award-winning tactical shooter Insurgency: Sandstorm will release on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on 25th August.  This realistic shooter focuses on lethal close-quarters combat, objective-oriented multiplayer and co-op gameplay and, if the success of the PC version is anything to go by, will make a killing on consoles.  A new trailer is available (see below) celebrating the announcement of the console release date.

Insurgency: Sandstorm takes players rush through a fictional Middle East country ravaged by war.  Players will need to coordinate support with team mates to outmaneuver and gun down the enemy in this realistic and hardcore depiction of war.

This team based, tactical FPS features:

  • Team up with others and co-ordinate movements in intense co-operative gameplay.
  • Compete in fast paced objective-based PvP matches.
  • Immerse yourself with realistic ballistics and stunning attention to detail.
  • Completely customise your character and weapons.
  • Unprecedented audio design with positional voice-chat that provides an atmosphere that will get the heart pounding.

“The console market has been craving a hardcore modern-day tactical shooter for a long time. Expanding our tried and tested PC formula to the console market is a huge step in our company’s evolution and we are excited to bring our signature style of tactical FPS to the console market for the very first time” – Keith Warner, President.

Insurgency: Sandstorm will arrive on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on 25th August.
