J.K. Simmons heading to La La Land with Whiplash director Damien Chazelle

July 11, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Following his Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in Whiplash, J.K. Simmons is to reunite with director Damien Chazelle for the filmmaker’s next feature La La Land, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

The musical will also star Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, and is described as “a modern take on the Hollywood musical following a jazz pianist (Gosling) who falls for an aspiring actress (Stone) in Los Angeles. But as success mounts, they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fabric of their love affair.”

Simmons can currently be seen in Terminator Genisys, which is in cinemas now, and also has The Accountant and The Lake on his upcoming slate.
