James Nesbitt and Timothy Spall are rival Santas in The Heist Before Christmas trailer

November 25, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Sky TV has released a trailer for The Heist Before Christmas, the upcoming festive comedy from director Edward Hall.

Set in Northern Ireland, the film follows Mikey (Bamber Todd), a 12-year-old who hates Christmas as he stumbles across two Santa Clauses in the woods – one who has robbed a bank (James Nesbitt) and an other who claims to have fallen from his sleigh (Timothy Spall). But as the disillusioned Mikey risks everything to get his hands on the stolen cash he comes to believe that the spirit of Christmas maybe alive after all. Watch the trailer below…

Twelve-year-old Mikey (Bamber Todd), who has grown up too fast to believe in the magic of Christmas, finds two Santa Clauses in the woods. One has just robbed a bank (James Nesbitt) and is on the run with the cash, the other Santa (Timothy Spall) claims to have fallen out of his sleigh. Mikey has no time for this second guy – he’s well past believing any of the Jingle Bells, spirit-of-the-season rubbish, even if his little brother Sean (Joshua McLees) insists on treating the old man like a superstar. Instead, Mikey’s determined to get his hands on the bank-robber’s cash, convinced that this is the answer to giving his family the Christmas they all crave. But as Mikey risks everything for the loot, he comes to realise that maybe the spirit of Christmas is alive after all…

Featuring in the cast of The Heist Before Christmas are Bamber Todd, James Nesbitt, Timothy Spall, Laura Donnelly, Bronagh Waugh, and Joshua McLees.

The Heist Before Christmas is coming to Sky this Christmas.
