For all of the talk of their “filmmaker-driven” approach to the DC Extended Universe, Warner Bros. and DC Films sure have developed a reputation for meddling with its directors’ visions when said approaches don’t quite match up with what they were anticipating.
We saw it with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League, and so when a rumour starts circulating that Warner Bros. is demanding 20 minutes of cuts from December’s Aquaman, it’s not hard to get a sense of deja vu.
However, according to director James Wan, there’s nothing for fans to concern themselves with, as the original rumour is “Not. True”.

You may recall that David Ayer also said something similar when it come to the theatrical cut of Suicide Squad before stating on Twitter earlier this year that the “released film was very different from [the] original assembly”. Let’s hope that this really isn’t the case this time around too…

Aquaman is directed by James Wan (The Conjuring) and stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, reprising his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Ludi Lin as Murk, Michael Beach as Jesse Kane, Djimon Hounsou as the Fisherman King, Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin, Otis Dhanji as a young Arthur Curry and Graham McTavish in an as-yet-unrevealed role.
