Jared Leto is Hugh Hefner, Optimus Prime in Bumblebee, Halloween casting and more – Daily News Roundup

October 4, 2017 by admin

IN LIKE HEFF

Less than a week since his passing and Brett Ratner’s Hugh Hefner biopic is picking up steam, announcing yesterday the casting of Jared Leto as the Playboy creator. “Jared is an old friend,” Ratner told The Hollywood Reporter. “When he heard I got the rights to Hef’s story, he told me, ‘I want to play him. He’s obviously a talented filmmaker in addition to being the movie star that he is and the good actor that he is, which I think will continue to develop as we see Batman and Commissioner Gordon not be spring chickens and we get into some interesting stories about these weathered kinds of guys.” Read more here.

HALLOWEEN CASTING

Entertainment Weekly are reporting that Judy Greer has been cast as the daughter of Jamie Lee Curtis in the upcoming Halloween reboot/sequel. This will be the third child Laurie Strode has had across the franchise, but the first two will be ignored as this new film will serve as a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s Halloween and Halloween II.
