Jason O’Mara is S.H.I.E.L.D.’s new director in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4

August 1, 2016 by Gary Collinson

The agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have a new director for the fourth season of the Marvel series, with Marvel announcing that Jason O’Mara (Complications, The Good Wife) has signed on to portray “a character whose Marvel roots go back to the 1940s.”

“Bringing Jason into the mix as the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D. forces everyone, particularly Coulson, to reevaluate their role in the agency,” said Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb. “Jason has both the physical presence and acting dynamics that will connect with and challenge even the most loyal agent.”

O’Mara becomes the latest addition to the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 after Gabriel Luna (True Detective) as Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider and Lilli Birdsell (Geek Charming) as Lucy.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for its fourth season on September 20th, in the new timeslot of 10pm ET.
