Dead by Daylight welcomes Jason Voorhees for 10th anniversary chapter

May 26, 2026 by Gary Collinson

Behaviour Interactive is marking the tenth anniversary of the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game Dead By Daylight by introducing one of slasher cinema’s biggest icons as Jason Voorhees enters The Fog for the all new chapter Dead by Daylight: Jason.

“There was never a question that our 10th Anniversary Chapter couldn’t just be big – it needed to be something really special,” shares Sr. Creative Director, Dave Richard. “When we started to see a path to finally making this partnership a reality for our 10th, we knew then the perfect Jason moment had come. We’re just thrilled the stars aligned and we were able to work with the great folks at Jason Universe to deliver this for our players on such a major milestone for Dead by Daylight.”

“Our fans have wanted Jason to enter The Fog since Dead by Daylight launched,” says Robbie Barsamian, Executive Vice President at Horror, Inc, the company behind the ‘Jason Universe’ expansion of the legendary Friday the 13th antagonist. “We’re thrilled to help make the game’s 10th anniversary celebration even more special for fans, and can’t wait for players to experience the killer new skins and gameplay that only Jason can deliver. Dead by Daylight has always been about nightmare horror stories, and Jason adds a new chapter we hope players will enjoy.”

IN addition to the Jason Chapter, the event also includes the Jason Collection, which feature the above outfits: the default Outfit, based on Greg Nicotero’s new Jason Universe update on the classic hockey mask appearance; Backwoods Terror, which trades Jason’s jacket for flannel and suspenders and his machete for a heavy axe; Death Forsaken, which offers a grotesque incarnation with decayed features, exposed bone, and a shovel in hand; and Jason’s Depths of Despair Outfit, which sees him emerging from the depths; a vision of terror covered head-to-toe in barnacles, coral, and seaweed.

Launching in 2016, Dead by Daylight is an online asymmetrical survival horror which pits four Survivors against a Killer. It has previously welcomed collaborations with a host of iconic horror properties, including Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw, Scream, Hellraiser, Alien, Chucky, Ash vs Evil Dead, Resident Evil, The Walking Dead, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Stranger Things.

Dead by Daylight: Jason launches today (May 26th) as part of the Steam public test build, with a full official release set for follow on June 16th.
