June 11, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Having acquired the big screen rights to J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell’s comic book series back in 2017, Constantin Film has now found a director for its planned Danger Girl movie.

As revealed by Variety, Kick-Ass 2 and Truth or Dare director Jeff Wadlow has signed on to direct the action adventure film, which has been scripted by Umair Aleem (Extraction, Kate). In addition to directing, Wadlow will also rewrite the screenplay.

Danger Girl follows Abbey Chase, an adventurer who is reluctantly recruited into a secret spy organisation and paired with fellow operatives Sydney Savage and Natalia Kasstle on a globe-trotting adventure to locate a series of mystical objects and keep them out of the hands of the evil Hammer Syndicate.

Wadow is currently reuniting with Truth or Dare’s Blumhouse Productions on a reimagining of Fantasy Island., which is slated for release on February 28th 2020 and features a cast that includes Michael Pena (Ant-Man), Dave Bautista (Avengers: Infinity War), Lucy Hale (Truth or Dare), Jimmy O. Yang (Crazy Rich Asians), Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars), Portia Doubleday (Mr. Robot), Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy), Charlotte McKinney (Baywatch), Parisa Fitz-Henley (Luke Cage) and Austin Stowell (Catch 22).
