Jodie Foster reportedly in talks to star in comic book adaptation Y: The Last Man

June 23, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After several years in development, FX finally granted a pilot order to its long-gestating comic book adaptation Y: The Last Man back in April, and now That Hashtag Show is reporting that Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs, Hotel Artemis) is in talks for a key role.

Based on on the Brian K. Vaughan comic book series, Y: The Last Man follows Yorick Brown and his pet monkey Ampersand, the last two surviving males on Earth after a mysterious plague wipes out the world’s male chromosomes.

Foster is reportedly in negotiations to star as Jennifer Brown, Yorick’s mother, in a role which will be greatly expanded from the original source material.

Michael Green (American Gods, Logan) is serving as showrunner on the potential series, while Melina Matsoukas (Insecure, Master of None) is on board to direct the pilot, which is expected to shoot this summer.
