Joker in The Batman rumours, X-23 solo movie, next Star Wars anthology movie and more – Daily News Roundup

May 26, 2017 by admin

DOES IT LOOK LIKE I’M JOKING?

The long-gestating Batman solo movie got a new rumour yesterday via Reddit (the same people who gave us that Flash rumour) which is claiming that The Dark Knight will take on a trio of villains. We already know that Joe Manganiello will be playing Slade Wilson/Death Stroke, but this new report is saying he will be joined by Scarecrow and Jared Leto’s Joker. Take this all with a pinch of salt, but Scarecrow was on the shortlist of bad guys to join Suicide Squad last year so it’s possible Jonathan Crane is on the mind of Warner Bros. and DC. NEW MUTANTS CASTING

Following the news that Anna Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams have joined the cast of X-Men: New Mutants, a new report is suggesting that they could be joined by Rosario Dawson (The Defenders) and Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why) will soon be announced. Read more here.

THE NEXT STORY

With production underway on Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, it’s being revealed that Disney and Lucasfilm will making a decision very, very soon on the next anthology outing. “We haven’t identified it yet, but yes,” said Kathleen Kennedy when asked whether the next Anthology film after 2018’s Han Solo movie is in development. “We have a couple of things right now that we’re circling, and we’ll make a decision between the two pretty shortly. It’s probably for 2020, and we will make a decision by June.” Read more here.

LEIA IN IX

The photo shoot from Star Wars: The Last Jedi revealed some interesting details about characters in the movie, but Kathleen Kennedy revealed that Star Wars: Episode IX would have seen the late Carrie Fisher front and centre. “The minute she finished, she grabbed me and said, ‘I’d better be at the forefront of IX‘” she said. “Because Harrison was front and center on VII, and Mark is front and center on VIII. She thought IX would be her movie. And it would have been.” Read more here.

X-23: THE MOVIE

After being showered with praise from her role in Logan, there’s been a lot of talk about the future of Dafne Keen’s X-23. Producer Hutch Parker has clearly heard this talk and has said she will likely not join an X-Men movie, but she could have a solo outing. “[That] isn’t to say that the studio couldn’t have a conversation about something else, but the one that we’ve been kind of discussing loosely and kicking around is more likely to be its own film.” Read more here.

A HORRIBLE NIGHT FOR A CURSE

Netflix unveiled the first trailer for Adi Shankar’s Castlevania movie, which will air on July 7th. Check it out in all its glory here.
