Jon Hamm to star in supernatural thriller Off Season

November 6, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Deadline has revealed that Jon Hamm (Mad Men) is set to star in Off Season, a supernatural thriller from first time feature writer and director Jonathan van Tulleken, which is based upon his BAFTA-nominated short of the same name.

The film is being produced by Nira Park (Baby Driver, Shaun of the Dead) and J. Miles Dale (The Shape of Water, Mama) and takes place in the Canadian tundra, revolving around a man who sets off in search of his elderly father who has mysteriously disappeared only to discover shocking family secrets long buried.

“I’ve been thinking obsessively about taking this material to the big screen for several years. It’s a story and world that I feel like I have lived and breathed,” said van Tulleken. “I never imagined I’d have the opportunity to do this with such a highly esteemed team around me. Nira Park and Miles Dale are two of the most gifted and respected producers working in film, and on top of that, to have Jon Hamm in the lead role is the kind of good fortune few first time filmmakers are afforded. I cannot wait to see him bring his immense talent to the role of Tenn.”

Golden Globe-winner Hamm was most recently seen in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, and is currently shooting the Neil Gaiman series Good Omens, where he plays the Archangel Gabriel. His other upcoming features include the comedy Tag, drama Nostalgia and action thriller Beirut.
