Jordan Peele sets new film for Halloween 2026

June 18, 2024 by EJ Moreno

2026 is a long time away, but no one wants to rush the horror mastermind known as Jordan Peele.

It was announced via social media that the still-untitled Jordan Peele event film will now debut on Oct. 23, 2026. This marks Peele’s first film to be released in October, just in time for the Halloween season.

It is quite the jump from the original release date of Dec. 25, 2024, but it makes sense with the Hollywood strikes and Peele producing (also taking Marvel Studios meetings).

All we know about the film is that Peele has been prepping for this. He told the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast: “I do feel like my next project is clear to me, and I’m psyched that I have another film that, you know, could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”

Peele’s first three films have been massive successes. After years in comedy, the actor & writer turned to directing. His debut, Get Out, earned him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and $255 million at the box office. He’d follow it up with the Lupita Nyong’o-led Us, which garnered $256 million worldwide. Then 2022’s Nope grossed $172 million globally.

His Monkeypaw Productions company has also made a name for its prolific resume. It is the company behind BlacKkKlansman, the Candyman remake, HBO’s Lovecraft Country, and this year’s Monkey Man.

Stay tuned to Flickering Myth for more news regarding the film.
