Josh Brolin will star as Cable in Deadpool 2

April 12, 2017 by Ricky Church

After a very long search, Deadpool 2 has finally found its Cable. The Hollywood Reporter has revaled Sicario actor Josh Brolin has been cast as the mutant mercenary in the hotly-anticipated sequel and the deal is said to include up to four films. Deadpool 2 is one of them while Brolin could reprise the role in Deadpool 3 and the long planned X-Force film.

In the comics, Cable is the son of Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops, who time travels from the future to the present. The search for Cable saw many actors’ names thrown into the ring, including Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon, David Harbour and Pierce Brosnan to name a few.

Brolin has starred in other comic book films before and will be seen in Avengers: Infinity War as the Mad Titan Thanos, finally making his move against the Avengers in his quest for the Infinity Stones.

Brolin joins Atlanta‘s Zazie Beetz, who was recently cast as Domino, in the sequel, which is being directed by John Wick‘s David Leitch and is expected to arrive in 2018.
