Jovan Adepo and Wyatt Russell join Bad Robot’s Overlord, rumoured to be part of the ‘Cloververse’

March 22, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was announced that Overlord, the upcoming supernatural D-Day film from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, had found a director in Julius Avery (Son of a Gun), and now it has been revealed that Jovan Adepo (Fences) and Wyatt Russell (22 Jump Street) have secured the lead roles.

Overlord revolves around two U.S. paratroopers who land behind enemy lines on the eve of D-Day and find themselves up against supernatural forces. If rumoured from Collider are to be believed, the project could join the upcoming God Particle as part of Bad Robot’s shared Cloverfield universe.

Overlord is set to go into production in May, and is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2018. God Particle is currently without a release date, having been removed from Paramount’s schedule when the studio announced the as-yet-untitled Cloverfield IMAX Movie for October 27th of this year (which may or may not turn out to be God Particle).
