Justice League storyboard artist praises Ben Affleck’s The Batman script

September 5, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Justice League storyboard artist Jay Oliva has lauded Ben Affleck’s unused The Batman script.

If you can remember back that far, Ben Affleck was once set to direct, write, and star in The Batman before exiting the project as director and writer. That job ultimately went to Matt Reeves but many fans are curious about what Affleck’s unused script was like.

Well, according to Justice League storyboard artist Jay Oliva, the script was phenomenal. Taking to Twitter, Oliva said: “The original Affleck script was the best Batman script I’ve ever read. Ben had a kick ass story and I believe that the audience and fans would have loved it.”

Hi Bill! The original Affleck script was the best Batman script I’ve ever read. Ben had a kick ass story and I believe that the audience and fans would have loved it.

Well, that’s certainly a big claim but it does make one wonder how The Batman would have looked under Affleck’s control. Of course, we don’t know much about The Batman as it currently stands anyway so fingers crossed that the film we do receive is worthy of the character.
