Justice League will feature a “fully evolved” Wonder Woman

January 9, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Zack Snyder spoke to USA Today in an effort to hype up both Wonder Woman and his upcoming mega-blockbuster Justice League, specifically commenting on the character mindset of Diana Prince in her origin story versus what is to be expected in the much-anticipated superhero team-up.

“[Humanity] has its moments, but it can be brutal, and her coming to terms with that dichotomy is what we come to learn about her,” said Snyder, who directed Wonder Woman in her big screen debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. “And in Justice League, she’s fully evolved into someone who’s embraced mankind, partly through Superman’s sacrifice. She’s like, ‘All right, I’ve got to pick it up.’”

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman will hit cinemas on June 2nd, 2017 with a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
