Kat Dennings is yet to hear whether Darcy will return in Thor: Love and Thunder

July 29, 2019 by Gary Collinson

During last weekend’s Marvel presentation at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that the Goddess of Thunder will be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021 as Jane Foster takes on the mantle of Mighty Thor for Thor: Love and Thunder.

While Natalie Portman is confirmed to reprise her role as Jane alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, it seems her Thor and Thor: The Dark World co-star Kat Dennings is yet to hear whether Jane’s assistant Darcy will be back for the next adventure.

“No one has talked to me and even if they had, I definitely couldn’t say anything about it,” Dennings told Comic Book, before singing the praises of returning Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi: “Oh my God, I am such a huge fan of his. What We Do in the Shadows, one my favorite movies ever. So it would be an honor to work with him, but I have no info. None.”

Thor: Love and Thunder is reportedly scheduled to begin shooting in the summer of 2020, so of course it’s still very early days when it comes to casting – and, as Dennings states, she’d be sworn to secrecy regardless. However, we’d have to imagine there’s a good chance that Darcy (and Stellan Skarsgard’s Erik Selvig) will feature in some capacity in Love and Thunder, even if its only the briefest of cameo appearances.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on November 5th 2021.
