Kayce Dutton begins a new path in Y: Marshals trailer

November 25, 2025 by Ricky Church

CBS has released the trailer for the first Yellowstone spin-off Y: Marshals, which sees Luke Grimes reprise his as Kayce Dutton on a new path.

Picking up some time after Yellowstone‘s conclusion where Kayce and his wife Monica successfully sold the ranch and its land to Thomas Rainwater and the Broken Rock reservation, Y: Marshals sees Kayce beginning a new path as he joins a new elite squad of law enforcement.

Noticeably absent from the trailer (and series description) is Kayce’s wife Monica, played in Yellowstone by Kelsey Asbille, raising questions on the state of her and Kayce’s marriage or her fate as the trailer teases Kayce talking to an unknown gravestone.

Y: Marshals features Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Brecken Merrill, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, Logan Marshall-Green and Brett Cullen. Check out the trailer below…

With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana. Kayce and his teammates – Pete Calvin, Belle Skinner, Andrea Cruz, and Miles Kittle – must balance the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence with their duty to their families, which for Kayce includes his son Tate and his confidantes Thomas Rainwater and Mo from the Broken Rock reservation.

Y: Marshals will premiere on March 1st, 2026.
