Kevin Feige delivers a “never say never” when it comes to Venom in the MCU

July 13, 2021 by EJ Moreno

We’ve all heard the rumors for months; hell, these go back further than that. The rumblings of Tom Hardy’s Venom entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been around since the character was first introduced.

But now, with Spider-Man: No Way Home looking like a superhero film of epic, Cinematic Universe-crossing proportions, those rumors have gained more traction. So much so that RottenTomatoes.com spoke with Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige about the reports, stating that:

“I obviously don’t want to talk about rumors or speculation on what could happen or what couldn’t happen as it relates to any characters Marvel Studios hasn’t brought to the screen yet. But I will say what I’ve always said, having been at Marvel for 20 years, I wouldn’t dismiss anything, I wouldn’t rule anything out. When and how and where remains to be seen. It could be, you know, any rumor you read online could happen anytime between now and never.”

Known for keeping MCU secrets close to the chest, Feige obviously wouldn’t address this head-on, but it’s surprising even to hear him acknowledging the rumours. Venom showing up in Spider-Man: No Way Home would be a big surprise but would fit the narrative that this film is a bit outlandish. Or might Tom Hardy’s Venom appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Only time will tell.
