Kevin Smith will follow Jay and Silent Bob Reboot with Clerks III

October 2, 2019 by Gary Collinson

It seems that the upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot won’t be Kevin Smith’s final foray into the View Askewvniverse, as the filmmaker has revealed that we’ll be taking another trip to the Quick Stop to catch up with Dante Hicks and Randal Graves for Clerks III.

Posting on Instagram, Smith revealed that he and Jason Mewes met with with Clerks star Jeff Anderson at a movie memorabilia signing, and that Anderson has agreed to reunite with Brian O’Halloran for another shift in what Smith describes as “a movie about how you’re never too old to completely change your life [and] how a decades-spanning friendship finally confronts the future.”

As Smith notes, he’s writing a completely new script for Clerks III, as opposed to the one that he hoped to make pre-Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which fell apart when Anderson turned down the opportunity to reprise his role as Randal.

Before we get to Clerks III however, we have Jay and Silent Bob reboot to look forward to, with the film set to open on October 15th, complete with a packed cast that includes Smith, Jason Mewes, Brian O’Halloran, Jason Lee, Shannon Elizabeth, Jennifer Schwalbach, Jordan Monsanto, Chris Hemsworth, Melissa Benoist, Joe Manganiello, Justin Long, Craig Robinson, Frankie Shaw, David Dastmalchian, Chris Jericho, Harley Quinn Smith, Alice Wen, Treshelle Edmond, Ralph Garman, Aparna Brielle, Grant Gustin, Kate Micucci, Redman, Method Man, Jason Biggs, James Van Der Beek, Donnell Rawlings, Rovert Kirkman, Fred Armisen, Val Kilmer, Tommy Chong, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
