Kiersey Clemons reprising Iris West role in The Flash

March 11, 2021 by Ricky Church

With Zack Snyder’s Justice League just one week away, one of the film’s stars will be seen again as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed Kiersey Clemons (Dope) is set to reprise her role as Iris West in Andy Muschietti’s upcoming The Flash alongside Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen/The Flash.

Iris West is a reporter in Central City and Flash’s wife. Clemons was originally cast as Iris West by her Dope director Rick Famuyiwa when he was attached to The Flash before departing. Her first appearance in the DCEU was to be in Snyder’s Justice League, but her scenes were cut after Joss Whedon took over the film after Snyder left due to a family tragedy and Warner Bros.’ insistence on a 2-hour runtime. Clemons has been added back into Snyder’s cut of the film and has been teased in some of the trailers, most prominently in The Flash’s own character teaser.

The Flash is being described as a multiverse film loosely based upon DC’s Flashpoint story. Muschietti is directing from a script by Birds of Prey and Bumblebee screenwriter Christina Hodson. Starring alongside Miller and Clemons is Ben Affleck, who will reprise his role as Batman, Michael Keaton returning as the Batman from Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns and Sasha Calle, who was cast a few weeks ago to play Supergirl in the film.

The Flash will begin production soon and is scheduled for a November 4, 2022 release.
