Kingsman 3 starts filming in September and will wrap up Eggsy’s story

December 14, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

As the pandemic delayed franchise prequel The King’s Man prepares to land in cinemas this Christmas, series producer and director Matthew Vaughn has announced that filming will get underway on Kingsman 3 in September, with the sequel looking to wrap up Eggsy’s story.

While promoting his prequel to the $800M grossing Kingsman series, Vaughn told ComicBook.com that “We’re all set to go” adding that “we start filming in September.” The report also revealed that Kingsman 3 would wrap up Eggsy’s story.

This confirmation comes in the wake of some uncertainty surrounding the future of the franchise following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, with Egerton speaking back in 2019 about his desire to suit up as Eggsy one last time, saying: “It was the role that kind of started my film career so I’m always going to feel, you know, a great fondness for the part,” continued the actor. “I would like to do one more because frankly, I’d like to say goodbye to him [Eggsy] in a befitting way and to finish the trilogy. All good things come to an end. It was always imagined as a trilogy and I think it’d be great to finish the story off because I’ve loved playing the character.”
